Last year, we introduced you to an Oklahoma 4-Her who makes a difference in the lives of the less fortunate each Christmas. And that 19-year-old student, Reed Marcum, is back at it again this holiday season, hosting another successful toy drive in his Oklahoma hometown.
With the help of 100 volunteers, Reed’s Christmas toy drive raised over $3.5 million and distributed over 15,000 toys, as well as food and clothing, to families in need across Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.
Marcum joined us Tuesday on the Market Day Report to recap this year’s successful event in McAlester, Oklahoma. In an interview with RFD-TV’s Suzanne Alexander, Reed discussed the positive feedback he’s received after hosting this incredible charity event for the second year in a row. He also detailed all the work that goes into setting up the event and sourcing thousands of toys and other donations. Lastly, he shared how 4-H prepared him to take on such a unique project and how others can get involved and support his toy drives in the future.
